Peter Ackah was the acting President for Abbeam Institute of Technology, a private university being set up at Kasoa from October 2011 to March 2012. He was responsible for liaising with regulatory bodies for the establishment of the Private University and managing staff. Peter Ackah was the accountant and a lecturer of Regent University College of Science and Technology in Accra from February 2008 to 30thSeptember, 2011. As the university accountant, he served on Boards & Committees including management and academic committees. His major achievement as the university accountant included the following;
• Introduced payment of fees by bankers’ draft
• Effective cost control measures saving the University a lot of money per month through petty cash
• saved GH¢30,000 for the University through negotiating for a software which management had already agreed to pay GH¢50,000
• lecturers and staff went to work regularly as a result of fear of losing salaries should they absent themselves an initiative I introduced to the University
Because of his passion in teaching, he became a full time lecturer at Regent from October 2010 where he was made the head of department for Management Studies department, the largest academic department of the university until his resignation in September 30th 2011.
Peter is a Christian and a church leader. He lives with his wife and two daughters at Malam in Accra.
